He Will Carry Your Sorrows

We all have our sorrows that we carry. We depend on our friends and family to help us through those times. Sometimes we don't lean on who we should in our times of need and that is God. I found this postcard from the book "Postcards for People Who are Hurting!" by Claire Cloninger This morning when I was doing my devotions, I found this postcard and it really spoke to me. I hope it gives you comfort like it has for me.

Isaiah 53: 4-5

But he took our suffering on him and felt our pain for us
We saw his suffering and thought God was punishing him.
But he was wounded for the wrong we did
He was crushed for the evil we did
The punishment, which made us well, was given to him,
And we are healed because of his wounds.

Dear child,

When your sorrow seems too heavy to hold, let it go. Jesus will cary it for you. For surely he is the one who takes up human suffering and carries human sorrows. Take time today to be alone with him. In a quiet place, life your heartace up in your hands as though it were wrapped in a package. Lift it up to him, and as your arms are lifted, tell him all that you are feeling. Describe to him your pain. Tell him your anger. Give words to your feeling. Describe to him your pain. Tell him your anger. Give words to your fellings of despair. Hold nothing back. Leave your arms lifted up to him until they ache as much as your heart does. and when you feel you cannot hold that package of grief up in your aching arms one moment longer, see Jesus take it from you into his own strong, nail-pierced hands. Then let your aching arms drop to your sides and fell the sweet release of that moment. And then, at the start of each new day, remember that Jesus Christ is holding the weight of your sorrow in his hands. Though you may still have tears to cry, know that the weight of your heartache belongs to him now.

Let him hold your sorrow-
God
