Faith Comes First

Ephesians 2:10

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Martin Luther talked about how there is two dimensions of the Christian Life - First is Faith. Good Works is the second. We come to God through faith alone

Faith is the most important. So many times I hear people say, I am going to heaven because I do this and this and this and I am a good person. But wait a minute, yes Good works is important but we cannot let it come before having a relationship with God. God wants to know us personally and intimately each day. He wants us to talk to Him and have a relationship with him. It is easy to come to relay on all of our good works and overlook how important our faith is in our walk with God. It is our faith that takes us to heaven, not our good works.
